Hebrew Wisdom
From a lecture by Rabbi Steve Nudelman.
The book of Hebrews is Midrash, the oral Torah. The New Testament is Midrash. The Gospels and the New Testament Apostles are today’s teachers.
Sin produces shame. Sin can’t be hidden. Sin will reveal itself. Man has an evil inclination.
The battleground is in the mind/thoughts. We are free (free will) to choose evil or good inclinations. Will and emotion fight themselves in the mind.
Romans 1:20-29; Romans 7:11 God is revealing the power of inclination to sin/soul. (Soul is the mind, will, and emotions.)
Free will. Will we allow evil or good (God) to control?
Yetze rah – evil inclination/bad (flesh), carnal, spiritual death.
Yetze tov – good inclination/godly (Spirit), righteousness, holiness, life, and peace.
Yeshua Jesus had total mind control of yetze tov. Romans Chapters 12-15.
Speak it into existence – Midrash
Man has two portals, inclination to good and inclination to evil. Therefore we have free will to choose good or evil.
The only way to close the portal of yetze rah (evil) is by repentance and confession. Repentance and confession seals yetze rah and closes it. Only then can one receive yetze tov (good/Spirit) when close the evil portal.
The enemy can never read your thoughts, only sees your actions. Only Spirit can read your thoughts.
Psychology impacts only the mind, but the mind is part of the soul/Spirit. Will and emotions make our choices. Philippians is God’s book of psychology.
The physical body is under control of the world. Spirit can affect it (joy impacts health).
The battleground is rah or tov (evil or good).
The enemy can never read your mind, only sees your actions. The mind is part of the soul and Spirit.
Acts and Ephesians go together. Ephesians shows how to let the Holy Spirit operate in your life.
Jews complete Judaism with Yeshua.
Scripture can seem contradictory, but not from a Jewish mindset. Yeshua Jesus saved us from the condemnation of sin. We are to be salt of the earth. Salt preserves and tenderizes. Salvation is only through Yeshua. Keeping the Sabbath, feasts, new moons, etc., is not a salvation issue but will bring the blessings of God.
Yeshua Jesus was conceived on Hanukkah (Light of the world). He was born on Rosh Hashanah. Hanukkah must replace Christmas. Celebrate Hanukkah to honor the LORD.
God will do in your imperfection what you could never do in your perfection.
There are two mindsets for Believers: 1) to avoid sin or 2) to pursue righteousness. Righteousness is the higher calling.
Obedience brings blessings.
Satan is the original terrorist. If one prays to the devil, the desire is to kill Jews and Christians. Lucifer is the spirit of terror.
