There is power and opportunity in numbers. Two hundred people, bound together by a common goal or an ideal, pledging only $35 a month could create $7,000. What miracles could be created with $7,000 a month? A community emergency fund? Resources for a battered women’s shelter? Scholarships for needy and deserving children? A church, Twelve-Step group, bowling alley, could create what with such a commitment? It makes anyone a power broker to do something significant.
Life is full of endless possibilities. Possibilities for peace, harmony and joy, and possibilities for war, disease and death. Death of the spirit and soul as well as the physical body. We are immortal, unending, a fragment of Eternity itself. Yet we live our lives in bondage. The bondage of hatred, fear and war. The bondage of judgement, condemnation and prejudice. One day we will finally know the Truth of our Unity, of our Divinity, of our link with God and All That’s Holy. And when enough of us believe and know that Truth, and our lives reflect Peace, Gratitude and Appreciation, of Love and Light, will the world’s consciousness begin to evolve and will peace between nations be at hand.
It’s been said that behind every successful man is a good woman, and perhaps that’s true. A woman to channel that raw energy and aggression into productive channels, a woman to quietly counsel and advise. But it is now time for women to step forward alongside their mates, behind them, hidden, no longer. It is time for women to become partners, equals, in the home as well as the work place. We’re not there yet. There are still women who hide their intelligence, their gifts and their inward beauty because they want to be liked and to fit in. There are still girls who play “less than” to be popular with the boys and get dates. In this day and time that still happens and it pains my soul. One need not be arrogant about one’s gifts. One need not brag and point out to others one’s talents. That is the insecure, not the self-confident, who tries to promote oneself shamelessly. Still waters run deep if one takes the time to be still long enough to notice. There is greatness in us all, all different, all unique, all with unlimited possibilities before us. It is a new day and new energies are permeating the Earth to make our evolution possible. This is the time of Revelation. And this is also the time of Enlightenment and Reform.
The end justifies the means. Is that really true? Can we really justify that at the Dawn of Enlightenment? The journey is what counts, the destination unimportant. But when God is in both, then it becomes a joy rather than a burden.
The greatest blasphemy is that we fear God.
The greatest travesty that we do not know our own power,
through God, through Love.
Seek not to be loved, admired, or appreciated. Seek always to be respected. For your courage, principles and integrity. That is a gift that can never be lost or stolen. Integrity. Value yourself well. Not with money, fame or prestige, but with honesty, integrity and strength of convictions. A better legacy cannot be left to one’s children, humankind, or the world.
People hurt others with their words and comments without meaning to. They respond with knee-jerk reactions, but really don’t hear what was said to them. They misinterpret, misconstrue and alienate others all seemingly unaware and unintentionally. The world is full of people who are abusive, defensive and intolerant, without realizing it. Be kind to everyone. Be gentle and compassionate with everyone. The world is full of the walking wounded.
If feelings of envy or jealousy surface, simply acknowledge them in your heart, releasing them to Spirit and ask for Divine Healing. That is a great lesson. To envy no one and to be jealous of nothing. With friends and others whom you love, respect and admire, love them with all your heart. Then there will be no room for envy or jealousy to dwell.
The heart is where God resides. The heart chakra is where Angels resonate with us in the physical realm. People don’t realize that. They think they can read about spirituality, or Angels, and become more spiritual and connect with their Angels, and that is possible in a limited way. But that is the intellect seeking to do all the work. And the heart is where God resides. People must do the work emotionally on themselves and their heart issues to know true joy and contentment. They must heal their lives of all the pain of resentments, hatred, jealousy and sorrow. Grieving must be done and forgiveness achieved to know true joy and abundance. It is possible. And awareness is the first step. And allowing oneself to feel the feelings is the next. Therapy, Twelve-Step programs, prayer and meditation. There are many tools for healing.
Martin Luther King, Jr., was a tremendous spiritual being of faith and hope. But now it is time to shift from looking outside at the injustice and discrimination, to looking within to one’s values of ethics, hard work, self-responsibility and love. When each man, woman and child, regardless of race, ethnic group or socioeconomic status, looks within and cultivates these virtues, then will the walls of prejudice around them crumble and will Truth and Justice be made manifest. And the Old shall pass away and the New be at hand.
